Recent Temporary exhibition: Dom Robert and the human figure

The 2025 temporary exhibition at the Dom Robert Museum, was dedicated to the human figure in Dom Robert's work.

While rarely depicted in his woven works, with the exception of his early tapestries featuring religious iconography, the human figure is a recurring theme in his paintings and drawings. Scenes of daily life, both at the monastery and beyond, illustrate Dom Robert's approach.

Installation in progress 2024-2026

Since March 22, 2024, the Dom Robert Museum of 20th-Century Tapestry has been presenting a new display of its collections on the theme of "Lively Meadows." This is the fourth rotation since the museum opened in 2015. Some changes took place in the spring of 2025 with the end of the loan of certain pieces, including Chiachio e Gianone's "The Family in the Joyful Greenery," which returned to Aubusson… And new surprises await in March 2026 when the museum reopens to the public!

Tapestries by Dom Robert at the Château de Boussac (Creuse)

Besides the Dom Robert Museum in Sorèze, Dom Robert's tapestries can also be seen in other locations. A few pieces are held in public collections (Aubusson Museum, Angers Museum, Mobilier National). But there is also the beautiful private collection at the Château de Boussac, in Boussac, northeast of Aubusson. This collection comprised a dozen pieces, from "L'ÉTÉ (Summer) to PLEIN CHAMP "Open Field," spanning all periods of Dom Robert's creative output.
